The Ravens could announce contractual agreements in principle today with linebacker Ron Rogers and offensive lineman Sammy Williams, both sixth-round draft picks.

"We're very close on Rogers and Sammy Williams, more so on Rogers right now," said Ozzie Newsome, the Ravens' vice president of player personnel who is negotiating both deals. "We're going over signing bonus language. We could have them finished [today]."

Rogers, the first pick of the sixth round, is believed to be considering a three-year, minimum salary contract that includes

a signing bonus in the $65,000 range. Williams is believed to be mulling over a similar, three-year deal that includes a bonus of around $55,000. The minimum salary for rookies is $144,000 this year.

"We're still finalizing some numbers, but we'll get this thing done [today]," said Brian Kelly, the agent for Rogers.

Steven Mandell, the agent for Williams, said, "We're getting everything together, and it will probably happen [today]."

As for fifth-round pick Ryan Sutter, chief financial officer Pat Moriarty said he exchanged another round of proposals yesterday with Peter Schaffer. The agent is seeking a three-year deal with a bonus of about $104,000.

Moriarty's talks with Drew Rosenhaus, who represents top pick Duane Starks, the cornerback from Miami and the 10th overall draft choice, continue to move forward.

"We're not there yet, but we're getting there," Rosenhaus said.
