Health inspectors cite food services

Anne Arundel County health inspectors cited three food-service establishments for multiple infractions and three more were temporarily closed during a series of inspections between June 16 and 30.

Cited for food not adequately cooked and reheated and food not held at proper temperature were New York Pretzels Inc. in the 6700 block of Chesapeake Center Drive, Glen Burnie; Ledo Pizza in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway, Severna Park; and Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers in the 6900 block of Crain Highway, Glen Burnie.

Friendly's Restaurant in the 400 block of Crain Highway, Glen Burnie, was closed because of a sewage backup June 16 and reopened the same day.

Wings to Go in the 7500 block of Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, was closed because of a fire June 18 and reopened the next day. In addition, Herald Harbor Inn and Mart in the 400 block of Herald Harbor Road, Crownsville, was partially closed because of a sewage overflow June 23 and reopened the same day.

Inspectors visited 163 other food-service establishments during the period and cited 29 with single critical food-safety violations.

Four locations were cited for not keeping food properly cooled: Millennium Health in the 7500 block of E. Howard Road, Glen Burnie; Bruce Lee Kitchen in the 100 block of Aquahart Road, Glen Burnie; Outback Steakhouse in the 2200 block of Forest Drive, Annapolis; and Terry's Place in the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn Park.

Pizza Boli's in the 1900 block of Fairfax Road, Annapolis, and Popeyes in the 5300 block of Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn Park, were cited because workers did not practice effective hand-washing and were not free of illness.

Food establishments cited for having food not held at proper temperature were Carrol's Creek Cafe in the 400 block of Severn Ave., Annapolis; Roy Rogers in the 7000 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie; Eddie's Place in the 1200 block of Route 3 South, Crofton; Golden Dragon in the 1900 block of Forest Drive, Annapolis; La Rose De Saigon in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road, Annapolis; and A Slice of Italy in the 6700 block of Chesapeake Center Drive, Glen Burnie.
