Apartments bestowed the 1998 Award of Excellence

Anyone in the market for a new apartment might want to start with the winners of the 1998 Award of Excellence from the Apartment Builders and Owners Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland.

Garden, townhouse and multistory apartment developments were honored for "overall appearance, marketing presentation and community amenities." Apartment units were judged on their approach and entrance, layout and appearance and features.

Price categories include: affordable ($450 and under), moderate ($451 to $600), upscale ($601 to $750) and luxury ($751 and higher). Winning communities and units are listed by area.
