Astros: The loss ended Houston's four-game winning streak at Busch Stadium. Pitcher Brad Lidge, Houston's first-round pick in the June draft, will make his first appearance tonight for Single-A Quad City.

Cardinals: Signee J.D. Drew made his home debut for the Arkansas Travelers of the Double-A Texas League on Thursday night. He went 1-for-5 with an RBI single as Arkansas lost to San Antonio, 8-6. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound outfielder signed a $7 million contract that included $3 million up front.
