Maryland State Police have identified two suspects in the slaying Tuesday of 20-year-old John Brandon Vonhaack at his home in Fallston.

Each has been charged with first-degree murder, burglary, conspiracy to commit robbery and use of a handgun in a crime of violence.

Police said two men entered the rear door of Vonhaack's house on Mountain Road in Fallston intending to rob the home.

Once inside, the pair opened fire with handguns, striking Vonhaack in the neck. Several others were in the home at the time, but no one else was hurt.

Police said the gunmen, wearing dark clothing and masks, fled on foot.

Police recovered a weapon on Streamside Drive, near the Vonhaack residence. Ballistics tests will be conducted to determine whether the weapon was used in the slaying.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of William Maceo Shepherd, 21, of the 600 block of Haven Place in Edgewood and Steven Anthony Taylor, 18, of the 900 block of Erie St. in Havre de Grace.

Anyone with information on the suspects' whereabouts is asked to call state police in Bel Air at 410-879-2101.
