Yankees update

The Yankees have six victories in their past seven games and nine in their past 12. They remain almost unbeatable at home, where they are 30-6 after last night's extra-inning victory over the Phillies. First baseman Tino Martinez drove in four runs Wednesday night and four more last night, including a tying three-run homer in the ninth inning, to move back among the league leaders with 65. Second baseman Chuck Knoblauch has been struggling, with just five hits in his past 26 at-bats. Third baseman Scott Brosius has driven in 51 runs this year, all from the bottom third of the lineup -- a performance good enough to earn him a place on the All-Star team. Reliever Mariano Rivera has converted his past nine save opportunities. The Yankees will be without setup man Mike Stanton, who begins his five-game suspension today for hitting Eric Davis with a pitch June 15.
