Sulphur Springs Lions Club installs officers for 1998-1999

Sulphur Springs Lions Club held its installation of officers for 1998-1999 recently.

The new officers are LaRue Sipes, president; Bonnie Seibel-Talbert, secretary; and Frances Lowman, treasurer.

Vice Governor-elect Clare Newcomer of Hagerstown installed the officers. She is the District 22-W chairwoman of the Lions' eye health program.

At an earlier meeting, departing President Catherine Booth welcomed new member Coni Humphrey into the club. Lee Ogle was her sponsor.

Fire

Taneytown: Firefighters responded to an investigation of fire in the area in the 500 block of Trevanion Terrace at 4: 22 p.m. Tuesday. Units were out 20 minutes.
