A Severn man was arrested on drug charges Sunday after officers stopped his car about a mile from his home and found $3,600 worth of crack cocaine in the glove compartment, county police said.

Police said they stopped the 1991 Nissan Maxima shortly before 1 a.m. during an anti-drug operation at Stillmeadows Drive and Parham Court in the Stillmeadows community.

They said they saw a plastic bag containing what they suspected to be drugs "in plain view" and found 36.3 grams of crack cocaine, a measuring teaspoon and 62 plastic bags in his car.

Kenneth Lee Osborne, 44, of the 8400 block of Pioneer Drive was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The officers seized Osborne's car, along with $73, police said.
