TRIPLE-A INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE

Rochester 9, Toledo 3: Leadoff batter P. J. Forbes homered and scored three runs and Willis Otanez had two hits and scored twice as the host Red Wings beat the Mud Hens for their fifth win in the past six games.

Steve Ontiveros (4-0) allowed three runs -- two earned -- and five hits over eight innings for the win.

Matt Drews (4-10) gave up nine runs and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings for the loss.

DOUBLE-A EASTERN LEAGUE

Trenton 5, Bowie 1: Jin Ho Cho limited the host Baysox to five hits over eight innings to lift the Thunder.

Cho (3-0), who walked two and struck out six, gave up a run in the second and was threatened in the third, but the Baysox

never placed another runner beyond first base.

Trenton tied the game on a double to left-center field by Dwight Maness in the third inning, then scored four in the fourth.

McCommon yielded all five runs and eight hits over five innings for Bowie, which has dropped two in a row after a four-game

winning streak.

SINGLE-A CAROLINA LEAGUE

Salem 10, Frederick 3

SINGLE-A SOUTH ATLANTIC LEAGUE

Charleston, W.Va., 4, Delmarva 2: The host Shorebirds had only six hits and committed two key errors in losing to the Alley Cats for the third straight game.

Charleston scored its runs, all unearned, in the third inning, the first two on a three-base error by catcher Tom McGee, who threw a bunt attempt by Wilmy Caceres into the right-field corner. The Alley Cats tacked on two more in the inning off starter Jay Surgeo (4-2).

Charleston starter Philip Merrel (5-8) threw a complete game, striking out four.

Delmarva's runs came on a first inning steal of home by Darnell McDonald and a sixth-inning RBI single by Roberto Rivera, who finished 3-for-4.

Hagerstown 10, Cape Fear 6: Vernon Wells was 2-for-4 with four RBIs to help lead the host Suns over the Crocs.

Mike Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Hagerstown, and Greg Morrison was 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
