Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Southern District

Theft: Someone broke into a 1997 Dodge van parked in the 400 block of S. Charles St. on Saturday and stole two pairs of sunglasses, a cellular phone, two compact discs, headphones, a videocassette recorder and a 13-inch television, all valued at nearly $1,900.

Burglary: A three-piece living room set, tables, two lamps, videocassette recorder and other property, all valued at nearly $1,400, were stolen Saturday from a house in the 2300 block of Nevada St.

Theft from vehicle: Cash, clothing, boots, a radio, tapes, a cellular phone, a Scottie Pippen jersey and a Morgan State University shirt, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Saturday from a 1987 Dodge parked in the 1200 block of S. Paca St.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A man, 25, was shot in the side in the 2000 block of Frederick Ave. on Saturday morning. He was in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday.

Northwestern District

Robbery: An 11-year-old boy was riding his bicycle in the 4000 block of N. Rogers Ave. about 9 p.m. Saturday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $20 and the bicycle, valued at more than $200.

Northern District

Robbery: Two boys between age 13 and 15 -- one of them armed with a sawed-off shotgun -- robbed a 21-year-old man of $5 in the 300 block of E. 31st St. about 11 p.m. Friday.

Theft: A warrant was to be issued for the arrest of a 23-year-old man who allegedly stole nearly $90 worth of food items from the Safeway market in the 2400 block of N. Charles St. Saturday.

Robbery: Three men, one with a handgun, forced their way into an apartment in the 500 block of Castle Drive about 2: 30 a.m. Saturday and robbed two male occupants of money, an ATM card, a watch, telephone and a Caller ID box. The intruders stole a videocassette recorder and a camera from a female occupant. Total value of the property was nearly $500.

Robbery: Two men with handguns robbed a 28-year-old woman of three rings and a gold necklace in the 5900 block of Chinquapin Parkway about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Robbery: A man was in the 700 block of Evesham Ave. about 5 a.m. Friday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of a briefcase containing a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun and a pager, all valued at more than $500.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Three sets of contact lenses, all valued at several hundred dollars, were stolen overnight Friday from a townhouse in the 700 block of Bridgeman Terrace.

Robbery: A man was about to place a bank bag containing an undisclosed sum of money into the night deposit at the NationsBank in the 8100 block of Loch Raven Blvd. about 9 a.m. Saturday when a man who implied he had a handgun robbed him of the money. Police said the robber drove off in a brown Dodge car with tags TNJ 905 that had been reported stolen earlier.
