Long & Foster employees to help Shepherd's Staff

Agents and staff members from Long & Foster Real Estate's Westminster office will participate in the company's annual Community Service Day on Wednesday.

The group will volunteer at Shepherd's Staff on Carroll Street, where it will create a back-to-school store and paint and repair the building, inside and outside.

More than 30 people from the office are expected to help the Christian outreach program from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Maryland Public Television appoints vice president

Maryland Public Television has appointed Jeff Hankin of Westminster vice president of marketing communications.

He will be responsible for planning and directing regional and national marketing communications, press relations, promotions and related materials.

Hankin has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and advertising. He has a bachelor of arts degree in humanities from the University of Chicago.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Carroll County Arts Council.

Rohrbaugh picked for board of Pa. Bus Association

Bill Rohrbaugh of Rohrbaugh's Charter Service in Manchester has been appointed to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Bus Association.

As a board member, he will chair the safety and operations committee and serve on the Membership Committee.

He also has been appointed to a subcommittee of the Carroll County Economic Development Commission. The subcommittee is charged with researching and outlining plans for improvement in customer service in county agencies, the cost of doing business in Carroll County and permit-processing procedures.

Rohrbaugh operates a charter bus service and travel agency in Manchester and Belair Road in Baltimore.

Target chooses director of vocational services

Ann H. Grimsley has been named director of vocational services for Target Inc. in Westminster.

She has extensive vocational services experience, having worked with Step Inc. for eight years. She was branch program manager in Carroll County the past two years.

Target provides job service programs to the developmentally disabled in Carroll County. Its office is at the Winchester Inn on Stoner Avenue.

Carroll chamber to sponsor team golf tournament

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce will hold its team championship golf tournament Oct. 9 at the Links at Challedon in Mount Airy.

Team and individual prizes will be awarded and a permanent team trophy will be on display at the chamber.

Registration is limited to 36 teams, but individuals are welcome. Reservation deadline is Oct. 2.

The day starts at 11 a.m. with sign-in, lunch at 11: 30 a.m. and shotgun start at noon, cocktail reception at 5 p.m. and awards at 6 p.m.

The cost is $125 per person or $500 per team. Hole sponsors and program book advertisers are welcome. Advertising deadline is Aug. 14.
