Tutors Needed

June 21, 1998

Area schools and literacy programs use volunteers to help children or adults improve reading skills. Among those in need of volunteers is:

Maryland Associates for Dyslexic Adults and Youth, Rotunda, Suite 310, 711 W. 40th St., Baltimore, which provides free services, including remedial tutoring. MADAY needs qualified tutors to work at public sites with people of average or above-average intelligence who are dyslexic, and have low functional reading skills and low income. Tutors must attend a seven-session training program. The next is scheduled to begin July 2. Information: 410-889-5487.

If your school or organization is seeking volunteer reading tutors and would like to be included in this listing, call Sundial, 410-783-1800, and enter code 6130.
