Some residents still without power

June 15, 1998|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

About 3,000 customers, nearly all in Howard County, were without power yesterday after violent thunderstorms struck the metropolitan area Saturday, said a spokesman for Baltimore Gas and Electric Co.

Karl Neddenien, the BGE spokesman, said crews were working throughout the night to restore service. He said the storm had knocked out power to about 58,000 homes.

Christopher Brenamen, 37, who was injured after the storm, was in critical condition yesterday in the burn unit at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, a spokeswoman said. Brenamen was severely burned by a fallen power line he touched on his driveway in the 600 block of W. Timonium Road in Baltimore County on Saturday.
