Constance Bentley heads Sylvan's PACE Group

The PACE Group announced that Constance M. Bentley has been named president of the Sylvan Learning Systems corporate training and consulting subsidiary. A 20-year veteran of the training and consulting field, she will lead efforts to expand its consulting practice and its share of the market for corporate training and professional development.

A Boston University graduate, she formerly was vice president of new business development and president of the consulting and training division of AchieveGlobal, a merger of three Times Mirror training companies. The Baltimore resident did post-graduate work at Southern Connecticut University and holds numerous instructor certificates.

Grinspoon, Hess elected Jodfrey chairman, president

Jodfrey Associates has elected Les Grinspoon as chairman and chief executive officer, and Vic Hess as president and chief operating officer.

Grinspoon, who had been the firm's president, is a former Air Force officer and a graduate engineer with additional degrees in business and marketing. He is a member of several professional groups and a board member of the Maryland/Israel Alliance.

Hess formerly was a vice president at Electrocomponents Inc. before joining Jodfrey, a Laurel high-technology products sales and marketing firm. He is a graduate of George Washington University and a Navy veteran.

Profiles appoints Fuchs senior account executive

Profiles Inc., the Baltimore ad and public relations firm, appointed Dorothy Fuchs as a senior account executive. She is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing communications programs. The former B&O Railroad Museum division director and marketing manager is vice president of the Baltimore Tourism Association.

Davis joins Crosby as vice president

Crosby Marketing Communications said Jeffrey A. Davis has joined the Annapolis firm as vice president for integrated marketing. A former vice president with Richardson, Myers & Donofrio in Baltimore, he will create public relations, media and interactive communications programs.

A Towson resident, Davis is a journalism graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and president of the Maryland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Banking and finance

1st Mariner appoints Spencer vice president

1st Mariner Bank appointed Wayne Spencer regional vice president. He will have responsibility for branch management and supervision of half of the bank's 18 branches. He will also direct sales, staff training and business development. Spencer is an MBA graduate of Hood College and lives in Ijamsville.
