Team Toyota, fueled by the Gait brothers, will try to avoid a third straight season-ending loss to the Long Island-Hofstra Lacrosse Club when the teams face off in today's U.S. Club Lacrosse Association semifinal at Maryvale Prep School.

The matchup, a rematch of the past two championship games, will begin at 1: 30 p.m. and serve as a centerpiece of the STX Championship Lacrosse Festival.

If Team Toyota (12-2) advances, it will face the winner of the other semifinal between Team Reebok, a New England-area club team, and the New York Athletic Club, in tomorrow's 3 p.m. title game.

"Our guys are excited and looking forward to the challenge," said Team Toyota coach Haswell Franklin Jr. "Long Island has beat us three straight [including once in a charity game] and my guys feel they have something to prove."

In addition to the men's club games, which will feature 15 players expected to represent the United States, Canada and Australia in the upcoming world games, there will be women's club exhibition games and state youth championships.
