Giants: Brian Johnson extended his career-high hitting streak to 12 games with a single in the fifth.

Indians: The Pirates' Mark Smith hit a liner right past Charles Nagy's right ear and shoulder with one out in the eighth. The ball didn't hit Nagy, but the frightened right-hander lay motionless on his hands and knees as the ball went into center field for a hit.
