Sykesville man hurt in car crash remains in serious condition

A Sykesville man remained in serious condition yesterday after he was injured in a car accident early Saturday on Route 97 near the Carroll-Howard county line, authorities said.

Donald W. Fritts, 36, of the 600 block of Buckhorn Road was at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

According to police, Fritz was traveling north near Hoods Mill Road when his vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree and overturned. The accident occurred at 2: 47 a.m.

Fire

Sykesville: Firefighters from Sykesville, Gamber and Liberty Road in Baltimore County assisted Sykesville at 5: 32 p.m. Saturday, responding to a house fire in the 2000 block of Red River Road. Units were out 26 minutes.
