YWCA dinner to honor women's achievements

The YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County will hold the annual Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) dinner Thursday to honor county women for achievements in business.

This year's TWIN program is sponsored by Merck & Co.

Anne Arundel County businesses may submit the names of female employees in management or executive positions who have made significant contributions to their companies to the YWCA, 1517 Ritchie Highway, Arnold 21012.

Long-term care, living trust to be discussed Thursday

"Long-Term Care Planning and Living Trust vs. Will: Which is Right for You?" will be the topic of sessions at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday at Hampton Inn and Suites. Speakers will be Karen Carolan, attorney; Michael L. Maseritz, accountant; and Craig W. Schubert, a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow.

The event is open to the public. The workshop is free, except for a $500 fee for stockbrokers and insurance professionals. Information: 410-841-0002.

Director of AAMC: Cardiologist Dr. Jonathan A. Altschuler has been named director of Anne Arundel Medical Center's Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Altschuler, a member of AAMC's medical staff, is a partner in Cardiology Associates and has offices in Annapolis and Washington.

Account supervisor: Kerri Neiderer has joined Crosby Marketing Communications as an account supervisor. Neiderer has more than 12 years of marketing and advertising experience with agencies in New York City and San Francisco. Crosby Marketing provides advertising, public relations, graphic design and multimedia services.

Partnership directors: BWI Business Partnership Inc. named its board of directors for 1998-1999 during its recent annual meeting. Samuel F. Heffner (Airport Square) was re-elected chairman. Other officers include James J. Cannelli (Anne Arundel County Department of Planning and Code Enforcement), president; C. Lloyd Carpenter (Northrop Grumman Corp.), vice chairman; Jay Hierholzer (Maryland Aviation Administration), treasurer; and James Piper III (O'Conor, Piper & Flynn), secretary. Catherine S. Hill (National Security Agency) will serve as charter director ex officio. Named as general directors were Frank J. Guillott (TNT Logistics Inc.); James W. Kirschner (NationsBank); Richard H. Pettingill (Casey/ONCOR International); Karen M. Price (Southwest Airlines); Richard J. Staub (Doubletree Guest Suites) and Beverly M. Wilhide (office of the Howard County executive).
