Carroll County Arts Council's Art in the Park fine arts show and sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at Westminster City Hall Park.

Art in the Park is expected to attract hundreds of visitors to Westminster. The regional "open air" show and sale will be held rain or shine. Admission is free.

The event features painting, photography, pastel, pen and ink and mixed media. More than 40 regional artists will compete for ribbons and cash prizes.

"We are pleased to have a wide spectrum of professional artists lined up for this year's festival," said Sandy Oxx, executive director of the arts council. "You'll find those working in very traditional styles such as watercolor landscapes as well as those working in more unique styles."

Two of this year's new artists are Richard and Summer Serrao, a father-daughter team. Their work combines detailed, realistic images painted by Serrao with bold and playful colors added by 4-year-old Summer.

Performing arts groups will entertain throughout the day. Music will be performed by Sisters in Harmony, a gospel group; Walt Michael & Co., a folk band; Barbara McCourt and Mike Forten, who sing and play the Celtic harp and guitar; and Hot Soup, an Andrews Sisters-style singing group.

The Kid's Court area will offer art creations and face-painting for children. Food will be sold.

The event is sponsored by Target Stores.
