Two teens charged with handgun violation

Two teen-agers were arrested on handgun charges Friday after they were stopped for not wearing seat belts and a .45-caliber handgun was found in the passenger compartment, police said.

James Reginald Meade Jr., 18, of the 700 block of Winton Ave. in Glen Burnie and Joshua Paul Crandall, 17, of the 1800 block of Hawk Court in Severn were charged with possession of a concealed dangerous weapon, police said. Crandall was charged as an adult.

Police said they found the weapon after searching the car just before 10 p.m. Friday at Pioneer Drive and Jacobs Road.
