New positions

Green joins Giant as vice president

Giant Food Inc. announced that Charles S. Green has joined the firm as vice president, corporate facilities, for the Landover-based supermarket chain. He will be responsible for the chain's construction and maintenance operations, as well as new-store construction and remodeling. The Temple University graduate formerly was a vice president with Pathmark Stores.

Millman appoints Kohute and Haffner

Millman Search Group, a national executive search firm, appointed Diann Kohute an executive recruiter and Julia Haffner a senior recruiter. Both will be assigned to the firm's Lutherville headquarters.

Kohute, a University of Tampa graduate, formerly was a territory manager for Clipper City Brewing Co. Haffner joined the firm from Garden Botanika, where she was human resources manager. She is a Towson University graduate and lives in Ellicott City.


Kessler is marketing v.p. at Freed & Associates

Freed & Associates named Deborah P. E. Kessler vice president of marketing for the Baltimore-based ad and marketing communications firm. She will identify specific client needs and create integrated marketing plans. A Towson University graduate, she formerly was a new-business-development specialist with Summit Broadcasting Corp.

Crestar appoints Morgan executive vice president

Crestar Bank appointed Deborah A. Morgan executive vice president, credit administration, for its Maryland region. A graduate of the University of Virginia, the Davidsonville resident is a board member of the Maryland Industrial Development Financing Authority and is active with the Prince George's County Chamber of Commerce.

Legal and insurance

Golletz is president, COO of Montgomery Insurance

Montgomery Insurance Cos. announced that C. Rand Golletz has been named president and chief operating officer of the Sandy Spring-based unit of the Liberty Mutual Group. The Quinnipiac College graduate is a former senior vice president of The Hartford and has more than a quarter century of insurance industry experience. Helix Health named Phyllis A. Domm vice president of human resources. She will have responsibility for all aspects of human resource management for the community health care and hospital system, which is based in Lutherville.

A graduate of Boston University with a doctorate in education, Domm was senior vice president for health care services at Florida-based Intracoastal Health Systems.
