THE ST. JOHN Nursery School's 30th and busiest year ends today with a 30th-anniversary reunion party on the parking lot of St. John Lutheran Church on Maple Avenue in Linthicum.

Approximately 400 people, including students from the past five years and their accompanying adults, are expected to attend.

Organizers are planning accordion music by Adeline Bradshaw and parachute games with Eadie Leach. They have gathered pictures of early classes and created a 30th-anniversary souvenir button. Sundaes and brownies will be available, as will flags for participants to wave.

Reunion co-chairwomen Jayne Stracke and Kathie Kamm say hot dogs and rolls have been donated by Scott Wagner of Michael's Eighth Avenue.

Guests will include the Rev. William F. R. Gilroy, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, his wife, Nancy, and Margaret Folkemer, widow of the Rev. Carl Folkemer, former pastor of St. John.

Eloise Vaughan and Doug Childs, who were instrumental in starting the nursery school in 1968 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, also will attend.

The nursery school, which has received a congratulatory resolution from the state Senate, held graduation exercises for the 4-year-old class Friday.

The children sang "We All Live Together" and "Let's Hear It for America" during the ceremony. The Rev. Gregory E. Clagg, assistant pastor of St. John, presented diplomas to 70 children, including his son, Justin. Each graduate received Class of '98 tassels and red 30th-anniversary pins.

Cakes and balloons were supplied by Sandy Hartzel and Barbara McWilliams of Magic Moments Gift Shop. Entertainers Bradshaw and Leach assisted teachers Barbara Bernheimer, Tammy Chilipko and Jane Soverns with the graduation, attended by family members.
