The robust market for existing-home sales is having a robust effect on the sales figures at O'Conor, Piper & Flynn-ERA.

According to James P. O'Conor, chairman and chief executive officer of OPF-ERA, April sales were 41 percent ahead of April 1997 figures, making it the best month in sales for the firm since its founding 14 years ago. The firm, purchased in February by New Jersey-based NRT Inc., has 51 offices in Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

O'Conor also reported that March sales were up 35 percent over the same period last year and that May sales are running almost 56 percent ahead of May 1997.

"Clearly, we are heading toward the best year ever for O'Conor, Piper & Flynn," O'Conor said. "These figures apply to home sales across the board, both in high-end and medium markets of each county across the state."

O'Conor said the increases marked the 11th consecutive month in which sales have exceeded those of the year-earlier month.
