Hampstead Day gets postmark in its honor

The Hampstead Post Office has issued a special picture postmark to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hampstead Day.

Mail order requests for the postmark will be taken until June 22.

Requests should be sent to Postmaster, Hampstead Post Office, 4005 Houck Ave., Hampstead 21074-9998, and include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for return.

The postmark also appears on a commemorative envelope being offered by the Hampstead Train Station Committee.

Orders can be sent to the committee at Box 727, Hampstead 21074-0727.

Fire

Manchester: Firefighters from Manchester and Hampstead responded at 12: 47 p.m. Wednesday to a brush fire in the 1800 block of Benedict Road. Units were out 43 minutes.

Hampstead: Firefighters responded at 6: 53 p.m. Wednesday to wires on fire in the 1000 block of Highfield Drive. Units were out 28 minutes.

Hampstead: Firefighters from Hampstead, Manchester, Arcadia and Reisterstown, Baltimore County, responded at 12: 36 a.m. yesterday to a building fire in the 3800 block of Hampstead-Mexico Road. Units were out 30 minutes.
