UMBC holds commencement for more than 950

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Catonsville ,, awarded 800 undergraduate degrees, 130 master's degrees and doctorates at commencement exercises last night in the Baltimore Arena.

Daniel Goldin, administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, was the commencement speaker.

The 32-year-old university campus also recognized its first 78 inductees to its newly inaugurated chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the national honor society.
