"I would recommend 'Black Beauty' by Anna Sewell because it is realistic. I would also recommend this book because it is enjoyable. Read to find out what a great horse she was."

Bryan Washington, Grade 3

"I really liked the book 'Elsa' written by Joy Adamson, because it was about a lioness and because it was about Africa. And Elsa was cute when she was a baby. And her cubs were cute when she had them."

Jack Mitchell, Grade 1

Riderwood Elementary

"I think 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' by Shel Silverstein is a great book. It isn't really a book, it has poems in it instead. The poem 'Sick' is my favorite. A girl says she is sick, but then she finds out it is Saturday. Then she goes out to play. The girl only acts like she is sick on school days so she does not have to to school."

Emily Fitzgerald, Grade 4

Elmwood Elementary
