U.S. Aluminate selects Askew as its president

United States Aluminate Co. named Timothy E. Askew president of the manufacturer of alumina-based chemicals for the catalyst, water treatment, pulp, paper and construction industries, which has its headquarters in Baltimore.

The Boston University MBA graduate was formerly general manager for the firm. He previously was a management consultant with the Boston office of KPMG Peat Marwick.

McCormick appoints Jenkins accounting manager

McCormick & Co. of Sparks named Katherine A. Jenkins corporate accounting manager.

She will have responsibility for the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements, employee benefits, accounting oversight and other tasks.

Formerly controller with Pioneer EyeCare, the Perry Hall resident is a graduate of Loyola College and a certified public accountant.

Glaus is marketing VP for Host Marriott Services

Host Marriott Services, the travel and entertainment industry retail concessionaire, appointed J. Scott Glaus as vice president of consumer marketing.

He will oversee field sales and marketing strategies initiatives for the Bethesda-based company.

He was formerly a vice president with the Pulte Corp. and is an MBA graduate of the University of Iowa.

Eisner, Petrou promotes Kerley and Maloney

Eisner, Petrou & Associates named Katherine Kerley an account executive and Christine Maloney an assistant account executive at the regional marketing communications agency based in Baltimore.

Kerley, a Washington resident, is a Mary Baldwin College graduate and joined the firm in 1997. She was formerly marketing and group sales manager for the Washington Ballet.

Maloney was an account coor- dinator with the firm and is a member of the Washington Women in Public Relations. She graduated from James Madison University and resides in Virginia.

Banking and finance

1st Mariner Mortgage names Loxley as loan officer

1st Mariner Mortgage Corp. selected Kent Loxley as a loan officer, with responsibility for sales management of mortgage product lines.

The Bel Air resident is a graduate of Ohio University and was with Mid Atlantic Waterproofing before joining the 1st Mariner Bank subsidiary.

Waire to manage branch for Madison Square bank

Madison Square, a federal savings bank based in Baltimore, appointed Dolores E. Waire as a branch manager and assistant vice president.

The Essex Community College graduate lives in Perry Hall and has been with the savings institution since 1989. She is assigned to the bank's new Perry Hall location.

Anderson is named senior accountant

Ellin & Tucker, a Baltimore-based regional accounting and consulting firm, named Aileen M. Anderson as a senior accountant.

The Towson University graduate lives in South Baltimore and is responsible for client audit, accounting, tax and consulting services.
