Athletics update

Finally, the Athletics get a team they can see at eye level. Both clubs are in last place in their respective divisions, with the Orioles a game better. Oakland rookie Ben Grieve is batting .326, leads the American League in runs (40) and is tied for second in doubles (17). He also has had five outfield assists. Oakland took two of three from the Orioles last month at Camden Yards. Kamieniecki didn't make it through the first inning, allowing six runs, and went on the disabled list two days later. Johns relieved him and gave up two runs in 3 2/3 innings. He'll be facing the team that released him last spring. The A's have the fifth-highest batting average (.274), but are tied with Chicago for last in fielding percentage (.977), committing a league-high 41 errors.
