Blue Jays: Shannon Stewart missed last night's game with a sore left thumb, which he injured while sliding into second base in Monday's game. He is listed as day-to-day.

Devil Rays: Rolando Arrojo is scheduled to start tomorrow despite coming out of his last start with back spasms.

Indians: In a 16-3 win over Kansas City, Kenny Lofton's misplay of Jermaine Dye's one-out double in the seventh inning ended a string of 67 errorless innings for the Indians. Sandy Alomar has hit safely in 19 of 33 games this season, and he's had two or more hits in 11 of them. Activated left-handed pitcher Al Morman from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-hander Jason Rakers to Buffalo. Morman was sidelined by a groin injury.

Mariners: Activated Bob Wells and optioned outfielder Ryan Radmanovich to Triple-A Tacoma. Wells made his first appearance since April 15. Seattle had won 16 of its previous 21 games at Texas before last night's loss.

Red Sox: Bret Saberhagen last beat the White Sox when he pitched a no-hitter against them for the Royals in 1991.

Royals: Dean Palmer's home run was only the third homer in the last 10 games for Kansas City. Reinstated first baseman Joe Vitiello from the 15-day disabled list Monday and outrighted him to Omaha.
