Hampstead Lions Community Park expansion nears completion donations still needed

May 18, 1998

The Hampstead Lions Community Park expansion is almost complete.

The baseball, football and soccer fields have been seeded, but backstops must be constructed, and fields cut to each sport's specifications.

About 900 children are expected to play games at the expanded park next year.

The Lions have paid more than $45,000 of the $60,000 cost of the project. The club hopes to raise an additional $20,000 to complete the fields.

A plaque listing the names of donors is planned for the park.

Contributions are needed. Anyone wishing to donate may send checks to the Hampstead Lions Park Expansion Fund, Box 121, Hampstead 21074.
