10 on college faculty win awards

Ten Anne Arundel Community College faculty members will receive 1997 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence awards May 27 at an Austin, Texas, conference on teaching and leadership excellence.

Awards will be presented to C. Wayne Ehler of Annapolis, professor of mathematics; Richard L. Faircloth of Alexandria, Va., professor of biology; Sarah L. Garrett-Sanders of Baltimore, assistant professor of criminal justice and legal studies; Russel E. Kacher of St. Michaels, professor of English.

Also, Mara Kent-Skurch of Pasadena, associate professor of sociology; Fred A. Klappenberger of Crownsville, professor of computer information systems; Paul H. Kreiss of Baltimore, professor of chemistry; Elaine T. Madden of Owings Mills, assistant professor, hotel/restaurant management; Shirley C. Parry of Baltimore, professor of English; and Connie R. Watson of Cordova, instructor of nursing.

NISOD is part of the Community College Leadership Program in the College of Education of the University of Texas at Austin, and comprises 600 member colleges throughout the United States.
