Glenelg stops Catoctin, 6-1, for Class 1A region crown Softball roundup

Shana Wyant (17-3) pitched a four-hitter as visiting Glenelg (19-3) beat Catoctin, 6-1, to win the Class 1A South region final and advance to the state semifinals next week.

Centennial 2, River Hill 0: Amanda Hall threw a complete game as the host Eagles advanced to today's 10 a.m. Class 2A South region final at McDonough in Charles County.

Towson 11, Owings Mills 4: Andrea Hammer had two hits and two RBI as the host Generals (9-7) advanced to today's 10 a.m. Class 2A North final at home against North East (Cecil).

Southern-B 9, Northern 2: Wendy Cavanaugh went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs to lead the host Bulldogs (13-4) to today's 10 a.m. Class 4A North region final at home against Dulaney.

C. Milton Wright 8, Parkville 1: Melanie Siler allowed three hits and struck out nine as the visiting Mustangs (18-3) advanced to the Class 3A North final at Fallston at 1 p.m. today.

Fallston 2, Eastern Tech 1: Candi Kuligowski had an RBI and scored the winning run as the visiting Cougars (14-3) advanced to today's 1 p.m. Class 3A North final at home against C.Milton Wright.
