2 infants at day care on Eastern Shore die DTC

Two boys about 6 months old who were found "unresponsive" about 4 p.m. yesterday at an Eastern Shore day care home were pronounced dead at an Annapolis hospital, a spokesman for the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Department said last night.

The spokesman said the boys, whose names were not released, didn't respond to first aid by day care workers and the crew of a volunteer fire company ambulance.

The unrelated boys were rushed from the home in Stevensville to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, where they were pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m., the spokesman said.

Autopsies are planned for today at the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore, the spokesman said. The sheriff is investigating the deaths.
