Child care center planning open house

May 13, 1998|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The Baltimore City Child Care Resource Center, which trains child care professionals and links them with families, will hold an open house at 1 p.m. tomorrow at its new location at 8 Charles Plaza downtown.

Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke and several children will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1: 30 p.m. At 6: 30 p.m., a recognition ceremony will be held for child care providers registered and licensed in 1997.

The center, a private, nonprofit organization established nine years ago, helps Baltimore families find affordable child care. It also works to place Head Start programs in child care centers and provides technical assistance to businesses seeking help with work and family issues.
