Police stake out local motel, arrest man and woman on drug charges

A Westminster woman and a Baltimore man were arrested Wednesday evening after state police confiscated drugs and drug paraphernalia from the couple as they returned to a Westminster motel, police said.

Acting on a tip, police staked out the Boston Inn on Route 140 dTC about 5 p.m. Troopers arrested the couple as they returned to a rented room, and seized 5 grams of suspected cocaine, 4 grams of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Michael Brandon, 20, of the 700 block of N. Kenwood Ave. in East Baltimore was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. He was ordered held at the Carroll County Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bail.

April L. Jarboe, 18, of the 300 block of Fair Ave. was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine. She was released yesterday on a $10,000 property bond.
