Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A 26-year-old man was in critical condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot several times while being chased by a man down an alley in the 2900 block of Arunah Ave. about 6: 30 p.m. Wednesday. The gunman drove off in a brown Cadillac that was found abandoned.

Northwestern District

Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the 2700 block of Reisterstown Road on Wednesday through the wall of an adjacent apartment and stole a compact disc player, school ring and two telephones.

Robbery try: A 74-year-old woman was in the 5900 block of Park Heights Ave. about 3: 30 p.m. Wednesday when she was knocked to the ground by a man who tried to steal her carrying bag. The man fled empty-handed when the woman cried out.

Burglary: Jewelry and a videocassette recorder, all valued at nearly $2,000, were stolen from a house in the 2600 block of Talbot Road on Wednesday by someone who entered through a rear door.

Northern District

Theft: An 18-speed bicycle valued at $125 was stolen Wednesday in the 2900 block of Keswick Road.

Theft from vehicle: The front bumper of a 1994 Ford Taurus was stolen Wednesday while the car was parked in the 2500 block of N. Calvert St. Attached to the bumper was the license plate AGA 833.

Stolen car: A 1990 Oldsmobile with North Carolina tag JRD1348 was stolen Wednesday in the 300 block of E. 30th St.

White Marsh Precinct

Theft: Police were seeking a man who stole $1,000 worth of golf clubs from Dick's Sporting Goods in the 5200 block of Campbell Blvd. in White Marsh on Wednesday.

Towson Precinct

Carjacking: A man was trying to repair his 1993 Honda Accord at Loch Raven Boulevard and Hillen Road about 9 p.m. Wednesday when two men, one with a handgun, forced him away from the car. Police said one drove off in the Accord, with tags DPN 295, while the accomplice drove off in a second vehicle.

Garrison Precinct

Robbery: A gunman robbed the Express Mart store in the 200 block of Reisterstown Road in Pikesville of an undisclosed sum about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Stolen vehicle: A 1992 GMC Jimmy with tags 905316M was stolen in the first block of Clear Skys Court in the Twin Ridge Apartments on Wednesday.

Robbery: A man using an outside pay telephone in the 100 block of Painters Mill Road was robbed at gunpoint of $15 about 1: 15 a.m. yesterday.
