Explore 17th century English and Powhatan Indian cultures at Jamestown Settlement on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the 391st Anniversary Celebration of the founding of America's first permanent English colony during Jamestown Landing Day. "The Legacy of Jamestown" theme will address the historical impact of English settlement in America. Activities include portrayals of English settlers, speeches, town meetings and birthday cake.

Jamestown Settlement is on State Route 31 South at the Colonial Parkway. Admission is $9.75 for adults and $4.75 for children 6-12. A combination ticket that includes admission to Yorktown Victory Center, a museum of the American Revolution, is $13.50 for adults and $6.50 for children 6-12. Ocean City Springfest

Drive to Ocean City today through Sunday for Ocean City's Springfest '98 and enjoy Maryland's fish and shellfish. The festival also includes children's activities, arts and crafts and musical entertainment. Concerts by the Spinners, 10,000 Maniacs, Kool and the Gang and the Mamas and the Papas will be held on the Springfest stage.

Springfest will be held in Ocean City in the Inlet lot. Parking is available at park-and-ride locations: Presbyterian Church (14th Street), Ocean Plaza Mall (94th Street), city parking lot (100th Street), Gold Coast Mall (115th Street), Francis Scott Key and Shantytown (West Ocean City and Route 50).
