Tutors needed

Area schools and literacy programs use volunteers to help children or adults improve reading skills. Among those needing volunteers are:

Baltimore County public libraries seek middle school students to help in a summer reading program. Students can earn service-learning hours. A brief training session is required. Information: neighborhood libraries.

Maryland New Directions, 2220 N. Charles St., to work with adult classes for General Educational Development students. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 3: 30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Information: 410-235-8800.
