Bel Air man, 73, dies when his car crashes into truck

May 01, 1998

One man was killed and a second injured yesterday morning in a two-vehicle accident on state Route 543 in northern Harford County, Maryland State Police said.

Theodore Kozak, 73, of the 900 block of Candle Light Court in Bel Air was killed when his 1987 Nissan drifted across the center line and into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by Allen Edwards, 42, of the 4300 block of Norrisville Road in White Hall, said Tfc. Charles Robbins.

What caused the Nissan to cross the center line was not clear, Robbins said. But the truck had little room for evasive action because of a barrier on one side of the road and a ditch on the other. Edwards, the truck driver, was treated at Fallston General Hospital and released.
