Today: The Volvo Race Village at the Baltimore Waterfront Festival showcases the technology, experience and extremes of ocean racing. The Race Village is host to the Whitbread yachts off piers adjacent to Rash Field; 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Embassy Day presented by the World Trade Center Institute. BT Alex. Brown Prize-giving Ceremony honors the Whitbread crews and the winners of Leg 7 at Baltimore Convention Center, 7 p.m. Whitbread crews and sponsors only.

Today through May 11: Annapolis Salutes Its Maritime Heritage Festival. The festival features historic outdoor exhibitions, storytellers, live historic recreations, operas, art gallery exhibits, historical homes and more.

Tomorrow: Parade of Sail from Baltimore to Annapolis honors the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 10:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. City of Annapolis Official Welcoming Ceremony: A tribute to Chessie Racing by home team fans, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Volvo Race Village at Annapolis Salutes Its Maritime Heritage Festival opens and features a display of the Whitbread 60s at Annapolis City Dock, live stage entertainment, Tandem's Cyber Cafe, Maryland microbrews, Whitbread gear for sale, antique boat displays, tours of historic homes and the Maryland State Hot Air Balloon. Whitbread crews prepare for the start of Leg 8 to La Rochelle, France.

Sunday: Restart of the race one-half nautical mile north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, 1:45 p.m.
