Baltimore police were questioning a 37-year-old woman yesterday after her newborn was found dead inside a trash bin in the 1000 block of Druid Hill Ave.
The woman, whose name was not released, was taken by paramedics to the University of Maryland Medical Center about 12: 30 p.m. yesterday after giving birth, police said. At the time, the baby was missing, police said.
Officers and paramedics returned to the woman's West Baltimore neighborhood and, after a search, found the baby inside a nearby trash bin. An autopsy was to be performed today to determine whether the baby was born alive and how it died, a police spokeswoman said.
