Becton, Dickinson & Co.

Clateo Castellini, chairman, exercised an option for 20,000 shares of common stock at $13.44 each from Feb. 2 to Feb. 17. To cover expenses of the transaction, Castellini turned in 4,138 of them for $64.94 each from Feb. 2 to Feb. 17 and sold 5,395 shares in the open market at $64.13 each from Feb. 2 to Feb. 17, and now directly and indirectly holds 99,813 common.

Walter M. Miller, vice president, exercised an option for 15,000 shares of common at $15.78 each Feb. 3 and sold 12,000 shares at $66.25 each Feb. 3 and now directly and indirectly holds 68,639 common.

Bell Atlantic Corp.

Ellen Wolf, vice president, exercised an option for 1,930 shares of common at $54.25 each Feb. 2 and sold them at $93.28 each Feb. 2 and now directly and indirectly holds 3,043 common.

Morrison D. Webb, director, exercised an option for 2,755 shares of common at $57.38 each Feb. 3. To cover expenses of the transaction, Webb turned in 1,694 of them for $93.28 each Feb. 3 and now directly and indirectly holds 13,071 common.

Balto. Gas & Electric Co.

Thomas F. Brady, vice president, sold 1,852 shares of common at $30.94 each Jan. 21 and now directly and indirectly holds 21,891 common.

Ronald W. Lowman, vice president, sold 1,588 shares of common at $30.94 each Jan. 21.

Stephen F. Wood, vice president, sold 2,291 shares of common at $30.56 each Jan. 21 and now directly and indirectly holds 20,228 common shares.

Environmental Elements

F. Bradford Smith, beneficial owner, sold 41,300 shares of common for between $5.38 and $6.63 each from Feb. 10 to Feb. 25 and now directly and indirectly holds 833,420 common.

Life Technologies Inc.

Thomas M. Coutts, vice president, exercised an option for 26,500 shares of common at between $12.13 and $16 each from Feb. 18 to March 2 and sold them for between $30.19 and $31.50 each from Feb. 18 to March 2. Coutts no longer holds shares in the company.

Brian D. Graves, vice president, exercised an option for 31,817 shares of common between $12.25 and $13.92 each March 3 and sold 22,505 shares at $30.94 each March 3 and now directly holds 9,708 shares of common.

J. Stark Thompson, officer, exercised an option for 43,111 shares of common at between $4.83 and $13.92 each from Feb. 12 to Feb. 18 and sold them for between $31 and $31.63 each from Feb. 12 to Feb. 18. Thompson now directly and indirectly holds 44,904 shares of common.

Manor Care Inc.

Wolfgang Von Maack, officer of subsidiary, exercised an option for 10,500 shares of common at $5.35 each Feb. 13. To cover expenses of the transaction, Von Maack turned in 3,360 of them for $36.69 each Feb. 13 and now directly holds 10,440 common.
