Gospel group to present concert at Linthicum Heights church

THE CONTEMPORARY gospel group "Refuge" will give a concert at 7: 30 p.m. Wednesday at Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane.

The group has appeared at other churches, and its recordings have been played on Christian radio stations.

Linthicum AARP meeting

Linthicum Chapter #2244 American Association of Retired Persons will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church on Maple Road.

The speaker will be Anne Brooke, who is in charge of consumer affairs in the state attorney general's office. She will speak on crimes committed against the elderly. A social hour will precede the meeting.

Board members will meet at 11: 30 a.m.

The Linthicum chapter will have a meeting April 16 with several other AARP groups at St. John church. Patapsco Valley #3850, Glen Burnie #606 and representatives from the Annapolis and Severna Park chapters will attend.

The club, which meets the first Thursday of every month, also is having a spring luncheon at noon May 28 at the Rose Restaurant at Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Belle Grove Road. Tickets will be sold at the April and May meetings. The luncheon takes the place of the May lunch bunch.

High school flea market

Saturday could be the day you find just what you need at North County High School's flea market at 10 E. 1st Ave. in Ferndale.

Come at 9 a.m. and shop until 2 p.m. Or if you want the first crack at something, pay $2 and get in at at 8: 30 a.m.

Food will be available.

The flea market is sponsored by the Parent Teacher Student Association. The money will go toward scholarships and other PTSA projects.

Thyme herb club

The Friendly Thyme Herb Club meets at 10 a.m., Friday at the Ferndale-Linthicum Senior Center. Member Joel Clements will discuss medicinal herbs after the business meeting.

Members on the committee for Herb Day at Leakin Park in Baltimore will meet at 9 a.m. to discuss the club's plans for the event. Information: Joan Krammes, club president, at 410-969-3025.
