Outlook: The wretched road season of the Spirit (2-17) comes to an end today against a Crunch team that is in a struggle with Harrisburg for third position in the American Conference and a first-round bye in the playoffs. The Spirit was eliminated from the playoffs for the first time in its history when Cincinnati won at home Tuesday. With its 13-4 victory last Sunday in Montreal, thanks mainly to a 29-save performance by Khalil Azmi, the Spirit avoided joining Columbus (1996-97), Canton (1994-95) and Denver (1992-93) as NPSL teams with just one road win during a season. Toronto (1996-97) and New York (1990-91) went winless (0-20).
