"'Leon's Story,' by Leon Walter Tillage is a good book. The book is about a little black child treated badly by other people. Things get better for him when he got older. Times changed and people got along better. Now Leon is a janitor at Park School in Baltimore. He wrote a book and he goes to schools and talks about his life. I like the book because I want to know about black history and to know about our culture."

"I read the Boxcar Children Series by Gertrude Chandler Warner. She is a great author! My favorite book so far is No. 1, 'The Boxcar Children.' This book is about four orphan children who are going to be split up in an orphanage, so they ran away and lived in a boxcar. They thought their grandfather was mean, but they found out how nice he was. Benny and Henry are my favorite characters."

"'Mrs. Piggle Wiggle' is a great book by Betty MacDonald. It's aobut a lady named Mrs. Piggle Wiggle who has cures for kid's problems. Some of these are: The Won't-Pick-Up-Toys cure, The Radish cure, The Selfishness cure, and The Never-Want-to-go-to-Bedders cure. I loved this book and you will too."

- Allison Buttner, Grade 2,

St. Francis of Assisi School
