Sauerbrey to address anniversary dinner

Republican gubernatorial candidate Ellen R. Sauerbrey will be the guest speaker at the third anniversary dinner of Historic Baltimore Housing, a coalition of property owners in historic districts in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Sauerbrey is to discuss her plans for Maryland's business and economic development and how her policies would improve the business climate for small businesses and property owners.

The event is scheduled at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Frazier's-on-the-Avenue in Hampden. Tickets are $37.50. Call 410-669-0006.

Homebuilders honor Greenbelt Properties

Greenbelt Properties LLC of Timonium was honored by the National Association of Homebuilders for its Greenbelt Lake Village development, which the group named the "Best New Affordable Home Community in the United States."

In the Prince George's County community of Greenbelt, the development was cited as "a designer community priced well below any other competitive product."

More than 70 percent of the 285 homes in Greenbelt Lake Village have been sold since the model opened in May.

Prices start at $90,000 and the gated community features waterscapes, fountains, a fitness center, swimming pool, terrace room, party and club rooms, library, billiards room and hiker/biker trails.

Home-buying workshop is Thursday evening

The Harbel Housing Partnership is sponsoring the second of a free two-part home-buying workshop at 6: 30 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2625 E. Northern Parkway.

Information on Baltimore County's Settlement Expense Loan Program, contracts and home inspections will be discussed.

Original Northwood open house planned

The Original Northwood Neighborhood Association will sponsor a community open house March 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The neighborhood, in North Baltimore between Loch Raven Boulevard and The Alameda, is known for its tree-lined streets.

Visitors can tour townhouses and semidetached and single-family, detached homes ranging in price from $70,000 to $180,000.

Miller Corporate Real Estate Service said Ernest I. Moyer Jr. earned the SIOR designation from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, an international association of professional commercial real estate brokers.
