C.E.M. Homebuilders has opened a model of the Chelsea Leigh at Falling Green in Mount Airy, where the company is building 40 traditional homes with gas heat and hot water on 2- to 4-acre lots.

Brass exterior light fixtures, well water, septic systems, hardwood foyers, libraries, built-in kitchen desk and 9-foot ceilings on the first and second floors are some of the standard features in the Carroll County community.

The living and dining rooms, both 11 by 14 feet, flank the two-story foyer in the Chelsea Leigh, which starts at $269,990 for 2,900 square feet of finished space.

Also housed on the entry level are a 12-by-11-foot library, 19-by-15-foot two-story family room, 19-by-13-foot country kitchen with pantry, laundry and powder rooms and two-car garage.

Upstairs, the owner's quarters has dual walk-in closets, a linen closet, 12-by-17-foot bedroom and sitting area, and bath with dual vanities, soaking tub, separate shower and privacy toilet. There are three more bedrooms, a linen closet and a full hall bath.

The Molly Lynn is a 2,700-square-foot home with a base price of $249,990. A 13-by-11-foot living room, two-level foyer, 13-by-10-foot library and two-car garage are in the front.

Across the rear are an 11-by-11-foot dining room, 21-by-14-foot kitchen/breakfast room, 19-by-14-foot family room and powder and laundry rooms.

The second-floor master suite has two walk-in closets, a 17-by-18-foot bedroom and bath with privacy toilet, soaking tub, separate shower and dual vanities. Three more bedrooms, a linen closet and full hall bath complete this floor.

The model is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Take Interstate 70 west to Route 27 north for 3.5 miles to Falling Green on the right.
