March 21, 1998|By SUN STAFF

The Leffler Agency Inc., a Baltimore advertising and marketing firm, has won the $1.2 million account for AmeriLife, described as America's largest senior life insurance company.

The television advertising campaign for the Clearwater,

Fla.-based company, rolled out this week in markets in Florida, Virginia and North Carolina. Using direct-response, the campaign focuses on the Ameri-Plus benefit program through which seniors receive a coupon book of discounts on items including prescriptions, airline tickets and groceries.

This account marks the fourth for the local agency's Tampa office. The Leffler agency does about $15 million in annual billings and has 17 employees in its Baltimore and Tampa offices.

The 14-year-old Leffler Agency is probably best known for its three NFL team accounts -- the Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Its other accounts include the Maryland Jockey Club and Town and Country Apartments.
