Nine Baltimore players chosen as state all-stars They're on team playing N. Virginia stars in June

Loyola quarterback Brant Hall, The Sun's All-Metro Offensive Player of the Year and a Lehigh University recruit, is one of nine Baltimore-area players on a Maryland all-star team that will play northern Virginia's stars in the sixth annual Chesapeake Football Classic.

Two of Dunbar's All-Metro players, Maryland-bound linebacker Kirk Williams and Buffalo-bound defensive back Dahnel Singfield, also will play in the game at 7: 30 p.m. June 27 at the University of Maryland's Byrd Stadium.

Woodlawn's All-Metro running back-wide receiver-defensive back Tavon Mason (Virginia), Hereford's All-Metro punter-kicker Roger Evans (Maryland), Mount St. Joseph wide receiver Shaz Brown (Villanova), McDonogh kick returner Jason Caeser, Loyola offensive lineman Blake Henry (Northwestern) and Edgewood linebacker Al Jordan were chosen, too.

Hereford's Steve Turnbaugh, who earned All-Metro Coach of the Year honors for the Bulls' 13-0, Class 1A state championship season, will coach the defensive linemen as assistant to Seneca Valley's Terry Changuris, winner of a state-record nine state titles at the Germantown school.

Maryland won last year, 31-18.
