Giants: Optioned LHP Ricky Pickett to Triple-A Fresno. Assigned OF Jalal Leach, IF Jeff Ball, C Henry Mercedes and RHP Jeff Darwin to their minor-league camp.

Rangers: Hired Bruce Crabbe as manager of Single-A Pulaski. Assigned INF Warren Morris to their minor-league camp. Optioned OF Mark Little to Triple-A Oklahoma and INF Rob Sasser to Double-A Tulsa.

Rochester (IL): Hired Ogden Whitehead as assistant director of administration.

Patriots: Hired Jack Reilly as quarterbacks coach and DeWayne Walker as defensive assistant; reassigned Jeff Davidson to assistant offensive line coach and Carl Smith to tight ends coach.
